ALL American motorcycles from October 1969 were required by law to be fitted with compliance tag adhered to the motorcycle headstock.

From January 1972 these tags were also required to have various carrying capacities stated as well.

Over the Months tags varied, typeface varied and in some cases not only were there monumental spelling mistakes but also incorrect years were actually stamped on the tags!

We can supply not only the correct tag but also the correct date of manufacture on the tag.

Really enjoying the book Rick. The amount of information stored in your brain, it strikes me as vital to get it into some recorded form! I loved the start where you described your forays across the USA picking up mountains of bikes. You made it sound so romantic, but I bet it was also bloody hard work. Right, next chapter... 

To start off as an apprentice leaving school, then creating a club which now has 800 members and to top it all with writing a brilliant book, well done, your mum and dad would have been proud of you. 

Well done on compiling all that information and putting all those hours into it. Know that it’s appreciated. 

Congrats on your book , it kept me sane in hospital, I suffered a bout of pneumonia just before Xmas 2025 , then heart failure in April 2026 !! But we old bikers are just too stubborn to die :-) and I still have my 72 H2 .

At every show you would find him frantically writing down engine and frame numbers from any model of Kawasaki!

Now with around 25,000 separate entries into his database he is the “go to” guy for any questions about engine and frame number originality, correlation or date of manufacture.

Rick is also relied upon by the UK DVLA to provide inform on altered frame and engine numbers.

The cost of this service is $25

Please have engine and frame number ready.

Please not this is not a service that is accepted by the DVLA, to date a motorcycle for the DVLA you will need an actual certificate sold elsewhere on this site.
